Faculties of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
The Faculty of Architecture offers study programmes in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The joint training of architects and landscape architects in one faculty is a special feature in the German higher education landscape. Overlapping topics can be dealt with as common, although there are separate courses.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering educates in its eleven institutes civil engineers in the studies Structural Engineering, Construction Management, City Construction and Transport, Water and Environment, Buildings | Energy | Management and Computational Engineering.
The Faculty of Environmental Sciences is highly cross-section oriented with its 20 institutes. It combines - unique in Germany - the three fields of Forest, Geo and Hydro Sciences in a one stop shop. Key issues in teaching and research are the fields of the development of sustainable human habitat and monitoring the earth system in global, regional and local scales. In addition to several individual programmes, the interdisciplinary MSc course Spatial Development and Natural Resource and the two English-language MSc courses Tropical Forestry and Management and Hydro Science are offered.
The Faculty of Transportation and Traffic Science "Friedrich List" with its interdisciplinary profile is oriented to the complexity of the transport and communications sector and therefore contributes account to the dynamic challenges of the transportation markets in its seven institutes - on the way to a sustainable development of all transport and infrastructure systems to meet the steadily growing need for mobility of our society. It forms a teaching and research network of transport economics, traffic engineering, transport infrastructure and transport technology. The Faculty of Transportation and Traffic Sciences "Friedrich List" is the largest academic center of excellence in the field of Traffic Sciences in Germany.
The Faculty of Business and Economics counts around 2.700 students, 24 chairs and two junior chairs. The spectrum of degrees offered is especially broad, with two Bachelor programs (Business and Economics, Business and Economics Education), two Diploma programs (Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics) and five Master programs (Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Business and Economics Education).
