The role of the departmental IT representative at TUD encompasses a wide range of tasks that contribute to the efficient design and coordination of the IT landscape. The focus lies on supporting and implementing decentralized IT strategies, ensuring smooth communication and service processes, and developing innovative solutions tailored to the specific requirements of a university. Below is an overview of the services provided.
Activities
- Coordination of decentralized measures to implement the TUD IT governance within subordinate organizational units.
- Development and establishment of a decentralized IT service structure.
- Onboarding of new administrators and coordination of rights management processes, including those for critical infrastructure systems.
- Coordination and support in the initiation of decentralized IT services and projects.
- Ensuring communication and coordination during the introduction of central services to decentralized users.
- Development of service offerings at the departmental level, including the provision of information and the creation of training concepts, such as:
- Introduction of central IT infrastructure (e.g., GLPI, Baramundi),
- Azure / AD4T,
- Joint hardware procurement.
- Ensuring IT security within the department, including:
- Configuration of virtual firewalls (CISCO ASA),
- Approval and management of globally offered internet services.
