THOR joint project at the 6th KWF Thementage

This year the 6th KWF Thementage took place in Jessen (Elster), specifically the Stadtwald Jessen, from March 30 to April 2, 2022. Since the Stadtwald also happens to be a concept area of subproject 2 of THOR, we of course did not want to miss the opportunity to take part in the event. Being experienced foresters we braved the elements and fought off gusting winds and temperatures around 0°C in order to provide information about the project to employees of federal state forest offices, apprentices, students and interested forest owners. Of course we had also time to explore the event area, which consisted of a loop way of about 4 km dotted with more than 70 exhibitors. Beside forest fire prevention and intervention the topics this year included the individual protection of seedlings, the establishment of climate-resilient forests and digital innovations for reforestation. These four days passed quickly and we are very happy about the many inspiring conversations we had, which will help to widen our network and promote future cooperations.
