Research and teaching of the Chair of Forest Growth and Woody Biomass Production concentrates on a central theme in forestry: "forest growth". Special emphasis is on understanding the complex interactions between tree growth / ecophysiological parameters, environment, and forest management. We are, however, not only interested in the forests of today, but also in the composition and dynamics of forests in the past.
