Obituary of our former employee Dagmar Gerbet
It is with great dismay that we have learned of the death of our long-time employee Dagmar Gerbet, who recently passed away at the age of 65 after a long and serious illness. Having worked for many years as a chemical-technical assistant, Ms. Gerbet already brought with her extensive professional experience when she was one of the first staff members at our Institute for Waste and Recycling Management at the time of the institute's founding in 1995 (at that time still known as the Institute for Waste Management and Contaminated Sites). At the Technical University of Dresden, Dagmar had previously worked at the Institute for Urban and Industrial Water Management, and before that for many years in the chemical industry.
As a laboratory manager, Ms. Gerbet supervised several scientists in practical analytical activities of various research projects as well as a large number of students in the context of their diploma, master or bachelor theses. She successfully contributed to industrial and research projects with her laboratory and methodological experience and set special accents. Both staff members and former students remember her determined and enterprising manner, through which many projects could be realized, both internally and in cooperation with other institutions of the TU Dresden as well as external companies in the laboratory-technical field. Her work has borne good fruit. As a respected colleague inside and outside the laboratory, we will always remember Dagmar Gerbet fondly.
We express our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
