Research Project Sulfur balance of the biological step of the MBA Freienhufen
Sulphur balance of the biological Step of the MBT-Plant Freienhufen
Finanzierung: Abfallentsorgungsverband "Schwarze Elster"
Laufzeit: November 2007 – Mai 2008
Contact: Prof. Dr. Christina Dornack
Project description:
By balancing the sulfur of the biological stage of the MBT Freienhufen, the main sulfur input pathways were first determined. Particular attention was paid to the water circulation, since genuinely dissolved sulfur compounds can lead to the concentration of sulfur in the system.
Sulfur is present in different bonding forms in the biological stage, depending on the milieu conditions. As a result of the investigations, solution approaches were given by which measures the sulfur concentration in the overall system of the plant can be reduced.
The operator of the plant received a recommendation for reducing his sulfur concentrations in the biological system.
