Project description:
The project aims to investigate the possibilities and necessary mechanisms for the implementation of a polluter-pays waste charging system using the practical example of a Greek municipality and to examine its transferability to comparable regions in Cyprus and Estonia. In doing so, special attention is to be paid to the achievement of waste prevention and residual waste reduction targets and to ensuring the financial viability and acceptance of the proposed approaches. The core of the project is the implementation of a demonstration project in Greece, the content and methodological preparation of which is to be supported by the TU Dresden on the basis of various system comparisons and experience analyses.
