Heat resilien cities
An exciting report in the ZDF series "plan b" entitled "From gray to green -
Good climate for the city" reports, among other things, on the research of the Chair of Meteorology on heat stress and heat resilience of urban districts. For years, the scientists have been working together with colleagues from the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development, Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, the City of Dresden (Environmental Agency and Health Department), the City of Erfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Dresden on the heat adaptation of urban building and settlement structures. The BMBF funded the HeatResilientCity project and its follow-up project HeatResilientCity II for 5 years. The high-density district of Dresden-Gorbitz serves as a model district.
