Below, you will find further information regarding the survey and the research project:
The aim of the research project is to compile and systematize existing strategic approaches to municipal pedestrian mobility planning.
Successful approaches in terms of promoting walking are to be identified with the aim of communicating these strategies to local authorities.
This should take into account content-related topics, specific measures and instruments as well as process-oriented aspects, such as administrative procedures and the involvement of various stakeholders (responsibilities, personnel resources, cooperation between different specialist departments, etc.). Furthermore, obstacles to the implementation of the plans are to be identified and systematized.
The online survey is aimed at employees of German municipalities with a minimum population of 20,000 inhabitants who are familiar with the topics of pedestrian transport and local mobility planning.
The aim is to effectively promote walking in the future. To achieve this, it is necessary to learn more about current planning practice in German municipalities.
Your participation is of great importance in order to be able to reflect the status quo of German pedestrian traffic planning. With your practical experience, you can provide us with important information and thus contribute to the systematic promotion of walking.
The survey focuses on questions about walking in your municipality on four topics
- strategies
- measures
- monitoring and evaluation of strategic concepts and specific measures
- governance structures
The complete list of questions will be made available above before the start of the survey.
