MOBILITY REPORT II: IMPLEMENTATION AND CONTINUATION PHASE
Within the research project MobilBericht, mobility reporting as a new planning tool was developed and tested in practice for the first time. As a result, the 1st Pankow Mobility Report was published, and the project successfully completed in May 2021. Together with the TU Berlin and the district of Pankow, the next phase has just started with the follow-up project MobilBericht 2.
MobilBericht 2 establishes mobility reporting as a new planning instrument for transport. The aim is to strategically realign transport policy and to make transport more socially and ecologically compatible. The implementation and continuation phase includes quality-assurance, dissemination and scale-up to increase the overall impact. Measures for the design of sustainable urban mobility from the 1st Pankow Mobility Report will be implemented, such as two superblocks (Kiezblocks) in the neighbourhoods Komponistenviertel and Arnimkiez. The implementation will be accompanied and scientifically evaluated by the project team. In addition, activities to transfer mobility reporting to other municipalities are being strenghtened.
In addition to the mobility forum as a communication platform, the public relations work also includes training courses, workshops and events on a national level. This way, the knowledge acquired in the MobilBericht project will be shared with other municipalities and institutions. On the one hand, mobility reporting is thus professionally communicated to important actors, and on the other hand, necessary adaptations can be addressed by discussing local applicability. In the long term, mobility reporting should be established as a new planning tool throughout Germany and make a practical contribution to sustainable urban development.
MobilBericht2 will establish and qualitatively improve the new planning instrument of mobility reporting in order to be able to implement sustainable urban mobility in a targeted manner in the municipalities and thereby improve people's mobility.
