Sustainable urban mobility indicators
Indicator system for sustainable transport systems in German cities
Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators (SUMI) have already been developed at European level. In the current project, this indicator system is to be transferred to German cities and adapted accordingly.
In this project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV), an exchange and dialogue with German cities and municipalities is taking place, with a focus on the German perspective and understanding of sustainability.
The aim of the project is to develop a broad-based indicator system supported by the municipalities and to make it available to the municipalities in a practical handout.
Against this background, a comprehensive overview of the objectives and indicator definitions of strategic transport planning in Germany will be created, the SUMI indicator set will be analysed, the need for change will be identified and specific German additional indicators of sustainable mobility will be developed with the involvement of municipalities and other relevant stakeholders.
Based on the European SUMI concept, already existing indicators of sustainable mobility in cities and municipalities are recorded, further developed and made accessible.
