Videos of the Faculty
With UNI LIVE, TU Dresden invites school students to visit the campus for one day at the beginning/middle of January, sit in lectures or seminars, and get a taste of university life. If you would like to get a first insight into the lectures and topics taught at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, please click through the following videos of our lecturers (all in German language).
Table of contents
Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering
The chair of Mobilty System Planning teaches and researches on the topics of empirical analysis of mobility behavior, mobility modeling and simulation, integrated planning and traffic safety. The cross-cutting issue of pedestrian and bicycle traffic has a high priority in all these areas.

Railway Systems
The Chair of Railway Operations contributes in teaching and research to securing the future viability of the public transport system. Combining science and practice, specialists are trained who have a comprehensive command of the operation of railroads and public urban and regional transport. This is why our graduates are in demand across the broad spectrum of transport, industry and consulting companies, in research institutions and by public transport authorities and agencies.

Air Transport
Our team at the Chair of Air Transport and Logistics consists of graduates of various research fields and varying professional expertise. This broad composition enables us to work on a wide range of research topics while considering problems from different perspectives and discussing alternative solutions. Our ambition is to make the results of our research accessible to the professional world by participating in conferences and submitting articles to scientific journals. However, we also strive to provide cutting-edge education by including these results in our courses. We therefore also try to expand our educational offer by inviting speakers from the professional world to our lectures where possible.

Transport Safety Technology
Our scientific research at the chair of Railway Signalling and Transport Safety Technology subjects focus on control and protection of track-bound transport systems.

Traffic Flow Theory
Subject of teaching and research at the chair of Traffic Flow Theory are – independent of the mode of transport – the theoretical basis of traffic in networks as well as specific problems in rail transport, public transport and air transport.

Electrical Transportation Systems
The research foci of the chair of Electric Railways are, besides the subsystems electric vehicle and power supply, particularly the overall system. The focus is not only on electric railways, but also on electric local area traffic, unconventional train systems, and electric road transport.

Econometrics and Statistics
The chair of Econometry and Statistics, esp. in the Transport Sector is dedicated to research and teaching in statistics and econometrics. It specializes in researching various areas of the traffic and transport sector.

Transport Management
The focus of the chair of Transport Services and Logistics, which arises from the context of transport services and logistics, is on complex decision problems when designing transport systems, their configuration as well as the management of processes in these systems. The ability to solve these decision problems represents a significant requirement for an economically reasonable performance of services in the area of transportation and traffic.

Economics, esp. Transport Policy and Spatial Economics
Economics, esp. Transport Policy and Spatial Economics
What is the difference between urban and peripheral regions? How do cities arise? Which effect does climate policy have on cities and which measures maximize wealth? When does laissez-faire yield optimal allocations and where might state interventions be appropiate? How do we measure costs and benefits of transportation projects?
These questions are an example of issues the Chair of Economics, esp. Transport Policy and Spatial Economics covers.

Design of Road Traffic Facilities
The areas of work of the Chair of Road Planning and Road Design include teaching and research in the field of road planning and design. This includes the recording and evaluation of roads and road networks. The chair also has a permanent place on the committees of the Road and Transportation Research Association (FGSV) in the revision of road design regulations. In addition, consulting and services are offered, e. g. for planning measures, safety audits or the training and further education of engineers.
