Exhibition Concept
Information technology developments - especially digitization processes - permeate and shape all areas of our life. As places of knowledge and education, universities are responsible for communicating their research topics outside the scientific community, making them comprehensible and discussing them with an interested public. From this socially relevant task also derives the obligation to contribute to the prerequisites for technological understanding in the population (Third Mission) - especially in the fields of mathematics, computer science and artificial intelligence. The citizens are also enabled to participate within the scientific community (co-creation). In addition, they learn more about the associated possibilities and limitations as well as opportunities and risks for society.
The basis for this is the high level of interest on the part of science itself in addressing the questions, interests and needs of all socially relevant groups and in providing an inspiring venue for dialog with the public. The exhibition concept for the Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science (CIDS) outlined below aims to contribute to this challenge.
The exhibition enriches the portfolio of an interdisciplinary research institution with an estimated number of 500 scientists.
The exhibition is:
- Interactive and dialogue oriented: Activating action-oriented applications and modules
- Modular: continuous adaptation to current research
-
Individual: use of different information levels
-
Participative: from visitor to user to co-designer (visitor - user - designer)
-
Multimodal-immersive: Addressing all senses through the use of a wide variety of media with a high quality of stay through the use of modern technologies.
