Artificial Intelligence and Digital Humanities
Core issues
In future, it is vital to know about neural networks, how they work, and how to get trained. Only then researchers will fully comprehend how their data might be used, and how neural networks can promote research and technology.
The cluster puts emphasis on the creation of synergies between Digital Humanities and Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, it focuses on recruiting further researchers who are interested in AI and DH projects, exchanging ideas and research questions, and initiating interdisciplinary collaboration and research. The aims are to develop joint project proposals, to present at conferences and to network with other institutions and potential partners in order to connect researchers from informatics and humanities.
Research questions
The focus is on the following questions:
- How can AI support learning?
- What role does AI play in the digital transformation of science, society, industry, culture etc.?
- How can AI work in line with the GDPR, and what are the limits?
- Which of the data already collected or soon to be collected may serve for AI concepts/projects?
- Is AI only for computer scientists? How can humanities scholars participate in and contribute to the potentials of the new technologies?
