Mobility in Cities – SrV
Thank you for your interest in the research project "Mobility in Cities – SrV".
The next iteration of the SrV survey will take place in 2028. A digital information event for all interested municipalities and institutions will take place on May 4, 2026 (in German). Registration for this event is now open.
The household travel survey "Mobility in Cities – SrV ", founded in 1972 as "System of Representative Travel Surveys" (in German: "System repräsentativer Verkehrsbefragungen", SrV), serves to determine key mobility indicators of the urban residential population. The results provide an important data basis for municipal transport planning, as key mobility indicators are regularly updated and analyzed using a standardized survey design. At the same time, the large sample size enables researchers to analyze mobility trends and their underlying factors across cities.
The fieldwork period of SrV 2023 started in January 2023. By the beginning of 2024, more than 280,000 people had been surveyed.
The Chair of Mobility System Planning is responsible for the coordination and scientific management of the survey. After a Europe-wide invitation to tender, the TU Dresden commissioned the Leipzig-based institute O.trend GmbH to conduct the SrV 2023 survey.
The final conference for SrV 2023 took place in Dresden on March 25 and 26, 2025. The presentation of the key findings on mobility in cities based on the SrV 2023 survey as well as other presentations shown at the conference can be downloaded here.
