Transfer Project of the Month: DyConcept - Mechanical Engineering meets Virtual Reality
Together with the TU Dresden Chair of Engineering Design and CAD, FAB Bertelmann Technologie develops a toolkit, which combines the future trends of the modularisation of products and the visual representation via virtual reality (VR) in one module toolkit, referred to as DyConcept.
The complexity of product portfolios, as well as conceptualisation assignments can be measured, simplified, automated and transferred to the existing engineering workflow by means of the DyConcept-toolkit. This allows for a variety of applications. It is therefore possible to improve the communication between different business units or departments, such as the Management and the Development Department. An application of the VR environment for the support of the technical distribution may also be considered, e.g. for a swift presentation of complex plants and machines to customers on-site.
At present, the enterprise is still looking for companies from the industry, which FAB Bertelmann Technologie can supply with a work sample. That way, enterprises can already now try out new future business models.

What is the transfer project of the month?
Each month, the editors of the 'Dresden Transfer Bulletin' – TU Dresden, TechnologieZentrum Dresden GmbH, GWT-TUD GmbH and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Dresden – decide on implementation-related or already implemented projects of companies or research institutions from the area of research and development. The Dresden Transfer Bulletin aims at providing regional research results with a further channel for the public, and at appreciating the efforts for research and development in connection with the exploitation. This information should, at the same time, serve the inspiration and the motivation for new innovative projects.
Enterprises or research institutions, which would like to apply with their project for the Transfer Project of the Month, can do so informally via email to the respective contact person.
