Once a year, HELLERAU presents artistic positions on a selected theme for two days throughout the house. Working sketches, short pieces, tryouts and small-format projects of different genres create a lively, differentiated picture.

On 10 and 11 May 2019, HELLERAU will be devoting itself to the theme of Europa (working title): Is (and remains) Europe a "work in progress"? What values and perspectives is a young "EU generation" grappling with today? In times of the much-debated "European crisis", we are looking for works that artistically explore the question of what Europe was, what Europe is and what it can be.

Call: For the realisation of the project, HELLERAU is looking for sketches, short pieces, video works, installations for the stages, studio spaces, corridors, staircases as well as for the outdoor area, applications from the performing arts, dance, performance and theatre as well as from the media arts, visual and installation arts and from music, participants from various artistic scenes and genres as well as students and graduates of art colleges whose work focuses on Saxony.
