Within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre Invective at the TU Dresden, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft has approved another sub-project. The project „Invektive Kodierungen von Interkulturalität: Ethnografische Situationsanalysen in interkulturellen Trainings und Integrationskursen“ deals with the question of how cultural differences and claims to validity are produced, marked and communicated through practices of disparagement.
As laboratories of social interaction with anticipated cultural conflict risks, intercultural competence training and integration courses are suitable fields of investigation for a comparative study of culture-related invective interaction and its socialising or communalising functions.
Prof. Dr. Heike Greschke, director of the Centre for Integration Studies, conceived the project and will conduct the study with two research assistants.
