The experiences and social participation of migrants in East Germany have not yet been widely discussed. In research, too, the West German history of immigration dominated the discourse for a long time. Yet East Germany has a diverse history of migration. That is why the project "MigOst – Ostdeutsche Migrationsgesellschaft selbst erzählen" will report on its work with a monthly newsletter starting immediately. "MigOst" makes the stories of migrants and migrantized people in East Germany more visible, e.g. through cultural productions in East German cities, but also through scientific contributions in professional journals and media publications.
