Fundamentals of residence and asylum law

In the winter semester 2022/23, the Center for Integration Studies of the TU Dresden offers the advanced training course "Fundamentals of Residence and Asylum Law". On the one hand, it is aimed at students who are training to become voluntary advisors in migration law as part of the Refugee Law Clinic Dresden, and on the other hand, at external interested parties, especially full-time and voluntary migration and integration workers.
The lecture begins with an overview of general administrative law and deals with the history of refugee law, the classification of the Asylum and Residence Act in the current German legal system. Based on this, the German and European asylum and residence law will be explained in an understandable way and with a view to the procedural processes. In particular, the focus is on the areas of humanitarian immigration and refugee law. The lecture thus conveys both the fundamentals and the structure of asylum and residence law as well as the current developments, challenges and questions in the legal field.
