You will find the latest information and handouts relating to the examination platform OPAL Exam on the Digital Examinations page by the ZiLL's Digital Tools team.
We work closely together with the ZiLL and are also happy to advise you on questions relating to the creation of exams (upload exams and ONYX exams) or exam formats. On request, we can also incorporare exam questions into OPAL Exam.
You can find more information about our services on digital exams here.
Organisation and procedures in the implementation of digital examinations
Would you like to examine digitally, but are unsure what you need to report, when and where? The following overview clearly lists the individual steps and responsible contact persons: Übersicht organisatorischer Prozessablauf digitale Klausuren an der TUD (in German)
You will also find further general regulations in the handout on digital examination at the TUD. These can be found together with an FAQ on the website for examination administration (in German).
Course templates for digital exams
The ZiLL has configured example OPAL courses so that they already contain the most important settings for standard exams. You can download these courses, import them to the examination platform and adapt them to your needs (both in German): Template ONYX-Exam / Template Upload Exam (task module). You can also use the following ZiLL template for a declaration of consent for digital remote examinations: Model template declaration of consent for digital remote examinations (in German).
Creation of ONYX exams
The ONYX exam checklist and the ONYX exam configuration provide you with step-by-step instructions for creating ONYX exams (both in German).
Instructions for students
Examiners can send their students the "Instruction for ONYX Online Exams in OPAL Exam@TUD for Students" for technical preparation in advance of the online exam so that students know what to look out for when registering for the exam and during the exam. This allows exam participants to familiarise themselves with the technical process of the online exam in advance.
User interface for examiners in OPAL Exam
Are you wondering what the user interface in OPAL Exam looks like during a digital exam? Dr Linda Götzke, lecturer at the Chair of Inorganic Molecular Chemistry, has created an overview and made it available: User interface in OPAL Exam
Hybrid thesis or dissertation defences
The Digital Teaching team supports the organisers of a digitally supported defence in the conception and preparation. In order to visualise responsibilities and support structures, the TDL GSW and the IT Admin GSW have created the following service document in coordination with the division management. Please note that the document is initially orientated towards the processes of the SLK faculty. Adaptation to the EW and PH faculties is possible on request.
