History of the faculty
Education has a long tradition at Technische Universität Dresden. In the context of the reorganization of faculties in the early 1990s ( Act on the Structure of Higher Education and the Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony of April 10, 1992), the Faculty of Education of Technische Universität Dresden was founded on July 9, 1993.
With its long tradition of pedagogical study programs at TU Dresden (or its ancestor institutions), it dates back to the middle of the 19th century.
A quarter of a century later, the Faculty is one of the largest educational institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany, and its students form the largest student group at Technische Universität Dresden.
The public relations group of the Faculty of Education has created information boards on the history of the building complex Weberplatz 5 as well as on the development of the Faculty of Education, which are displayed in the building.
