EUVET-P: First joint partner meeting in Dresden
On the 23rd and 24th of January 2025 the Chair of Adult Education had the pleasure of hosting the first face-to-face meeting within the Project EUVET-P: Vocational Education and Training policy in the European Union
During this productive meeting, the partners from Estonia(Andras), Germany (TU Dresden), Greece(Kek Axia) and Portugal(Aid Learn) came together to discuss the results from the national focus groups, which explored how EUVET Policy tools are understood and implemented in practice. The discussion highlited the importance of EUVET policy tools for European targets such as aligning education with labor market needs, fostering skills development and mobility as well as a promoting the European Idea in VET. Further, it highlighted the need of bridging policy and practice.
The insights gathered within the focus group and our discussion will build the basis for our next step: developing learning units for VET staff, teachers and trainers. These units will focus on the practical application of commonly used EUVET tools, ensuring that these resources are accessible and useful in everyday VET practice.
We also began planning these learning units collaboratively, with each organization contributing their unique perspectives and expertise. Over the course of the project, we aim to create four e-learning modules focused on commonly used EUVET tools. The diversity of input from our partners ensures a truly European perspective.
Beyond the content discussions, we also embraced the spirit of European collaboration through cultural exchange. We visited the Green Vault at Dresden's Residential Castle, where our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating insights into the treasury-highlighting how it reflects the rich history of international trade. And, of course, we enjoyed traditional German cuisine to celebrate our teamwork and shared vision.
This meeting marked a significant step forward in advancing the EUVET-P project's goals, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that EUVET tools are effectively bridging the gap between policy and practice.
