Guest lecture about QESplus
As part of the "Quality Development" seminar, Gisela Wiesner and Katharina Schenk gave an insightful guest lecture on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The two experts presented the QESplus model, an innovative quality management and certification system that is particularly suitable for small associations with educational and advisory tasks for young people and adults as a practicable alternative to larger certification offers.
The presentation provided a comprehensive introduction to the structure and application of the QESplus model as well as insights into the latest developments and innovations.
What is QESplus and what makes it so special?
QESplus is a quality management system specially developed for further education institutions and associations. It offers experience-based, practicable and self-explanatory guidelines that facilitate implementation and enable self-evaluation and certification by recognized certification agencies. The central components of QESplus include participative leadership, reflection and communication between all those involved, which helps to promote the organizational culture. The system is continuously improved, further developed and adapted to the latest scientific findings.
What are the new features of QESplus?
As the system is always kept up to date with the latest scientific findings, aspects of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) have recently been integrated and passages adapted accordingly. The revised "Learning support" and "Education marketing" components are freely accessible on the QESplus homepage and the changes are clearly highlighted. The new ESD aspects, which were also discussed in the presentation, emphasize the relevance of sustainable action and give the model a contemporary and future-oriented focus.
A particularly lively part of the presentation was the subsequent discussion about participation in the certification project. The practical transfer of the quality management system was the subject of intense debate. Gisela Wiesner and Katharina Schenk emphasized several times that the QESplus model is not only a tool for quality assurance, but also has a positive influence on the efficiency and professionalism of the institutions' work.

We would like to thank the two Advisors for the guest lecture and our student Rosamarie Bertz for the news article!
