The junior professorship for nutrition and home economics and the didactics of the professional field is responsible for teacher training in the professional field of nutrition and home economics. Both subject-related and vocational didactic aspects play a role in research and teaching.

Teaching and supervision tasks are mainly carried out as part of the teacher training course at vocational schools in the vocational field of food, nutrition and home economics (LEH). We also participate in the courses offered as part of the supplementary studies for degree courses with a state final examination and in the student-organized lecture series “Ecological Sustainability”. Our overarching subject of research is the professional field of nutrition and home economics and the corresponding professional didactics. We are primarily concerned with questions about the possible design of socio-ecological food systems and the skills required by the individual actors.
