State examination
At the end of your university studies, you have the opportunity to take the First State Examination for Teaching at Vocational Schools. The State Office for Schools and Education (LASUB) is responsible for this state examination. It consists of
- a written examination on the basics of vocational education/design of vocational teaching or educational psychology
- oral examinations on the subject science and subject didactics of the chosen vocational Department(s)/the chosen subject
- an academic paper on a subject-related, subject-didactic, vocational-didactic or educational science topic

There you will also find possible topics for your state examination paper.
Admission to the first state examination requires proof of a professional internship of at least twelve months or a completed professional training related to the field of study. The course and examination content can be found in the Teacher Examination Regulations I (LAPO I).
The Saxon State Office for Schools and Education (LaSuB) is the subordinate school supervisory authority of the Saxon State Ministry of Culture, on whose website (smk.sachsen.de) you can find all information about the First State Examination.

The legal basis for the first state examination is the Teacher Examination Regulations I (LAPO I).
Section 112 contains the examination content for the vocational Department of Food, Nutrition and Home Economics.
