Innovative seminars
QuaBIS: Seminars with the education and inclusion consultants at TU Dresden
QuaBIS has been an integral part of teacher training for general education schools (primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools) at TUD since 2019.
The QuaBIS team consists of people who are labeled as having an intellectual disability, as well as those who do not belong to this category.
One of the main goals of the QuaBIS project is to make visible the potential diversity of teachers and their different perspectives and forms of knowledge that result from a disabled life reality in university teaching, as well as to demand and create full and effective participation for ALL people.
The educational and inclusion consultants are actively involved in the seminars throughout the full semester, in accordance with the module regulations, and convey the regular teaching content. Since the start of the project, the educational and inclusion consultants have also been actively involved in research.
Here you can find an overview of the seminars held by the education and inclusion officers.
Research at the University School Dresden
In summer 2019, Dresden University School opened its doors to 200 children. Since then, the school has continued to grow and in August 2024, around 830 pupils in grades 1 to 10 learn at the community school in a cross-grade, interdisciplinary, inclusive, all-day, multilingual, self-determined, cooperative and digitally supported way.
However, the university school is also a place of educational research. The Chair of Education / Inclusive Education regularly offers the seminar "Research at the University School" and other seminars in cooperation with the University School for student teachers from all departments.
In the seminar "Research at the University School" , exciting questions about school and teaching research are answered and research activities at the University School Dresden are presented. Accompanied by the staff of the ForUs research center, students go through a research process from the research question to data collection to data evaluation and gain insights into the school experiment. In the course of the seminar, there is the opportunity to prepare a state examination theses in the Department of Education in the field of education research.
