Outstanding "Diverse Teaching" – Professor Schankweiler awarded student council price

Anually, the Student Councils of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science confer prices for outstanding teaching. This year Kerstin Schankweiler receives the student award in the category "Diverse Teaching".

The comittee comprising members of both student councils justified their decision between the student nominated candidates as follows:

"Students value your teaching for presenting art from around the world - even through international guests at your lectures - while discussing problems of artists from outside Europe and the US. Also, the special focus on female and queer artists and the additional support for queer artists in Poland, speak for the diversity in your teaching. You encourage critical questioning of the art historical canon and make space in your lectures for student discussions of key topics."
