Study programs for international students
For students of philosophy participating in international exchange programs, all courses from the regular course offerings of the Institute of Philosophy are available.
The current course catalog contains the most important information for planning your studies.
The website of the International Office offers general information about studying at TU Dresden.
Language proficiency
With a few exceptions, all courses in philosophy are held in German. For a study stay at the institute, it is therefore required that your language proficiency in German as a language of instruction is at least level B1.
Granting of credits and examination grades
Students from TU Dresden’s partner universities are not obliged to take all module examinations. They have the possibility takeoff taking individually tailored examinations.
The following guidelines are recommended for crediting individual partial examinations:
- attendance of one course (2 hours per week): 2 credits
- oral examination or presentation: 3 credits
- written exam or essay: 3 credits
- seminar paper: 3-6 credits
If the examination is taken in a foreign language, an additional credit may be awarded.
Please discuss the number of credit points at the beginning of the term for each course individually with your instructors at TU Dresden.
Click here for detailed information on ECTS credits.
