Implementation of the SDGs – interdisciplinary perspectives
December 2015 saw the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are meant to help bring worldwide economic growth with social equality and ecological sustainability into balance by 2030.
The UNESCO Chair for International Relations Dresden is intensely concerned with the requirements for a successful implementation of the SDGs. We focus our research on the role of culture and its legal implications in the implementation of the SDGs. As one of twelve UNESCO chairs in Germany and more than 700 internationally, we are committed to the idea of interdisciplinarity and cooperation across subjects and disciplines.
In May 2018, we organised an interdisciplinary workshop inviting interested chairholders of the TU Dresden from different fields as well as representatives of UNU-FLORES. Within our topic “The Implementation of the SDGs – interdisciplinary perspectives”, we evaluated opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation.
