Information on the 3rd semester of the Master's programme

In the third semester of the Master's programme you can choose between several options: interdisciplinary courses, a professional internship, or a semester abroad.

For the specialisation and the broadening modules you will find Learning Agreements on the website of the Examination Office of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science under the menu item Forms. On these, you have to enter the courses you have chosen and determine the examination prerequisites (Prüfungsvorleistung) and the examined assessments (Prüfungsleistung). This is an example:

The first table is followed by the signature line. This serves as registration for the Prüfungs(vor-)leistungen. Once you have decided in which courses you would like to take/submit them, have the form signed by one of the academic advisors at the Institute of Sociology and hand it in at the Examination Office. They will make a copy and you will get back your original. This means that your examined assessments have been registered with binding effect and withdrawal is no longer possible (except in the event of illness).

Once you have completed your examined assessment, please have the lecturer enter it and confirm it by signing the form.

Attendance of a course in which you do not take an examination/write a paper must also be confirmed by a signature. It is up to you or the lecturer to decide when this signature is provided.

If you divide the courses and the prerequisites/examined assessments of the 3^rd semester modules into several semesters (which is of course possible), please use a separate Learning Agreement for each semester.
