Habilitation (Dr. phil. habil.) at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at TU Dresden. Awarded the teaching license for sociology, combined with the Privatdozentur in July 2008.
The revised habilitation thesis was published in 2009 as "Die Verfügbarkeit der Dinge. Eine historische Soziologie des Konsums".

Research stays at Goldsmiths College (University of London,
Feodor-Lynen short-term scholarship from the A. v. Humboldt Foundation).
2001-2010:
Research assistant at the Institute of Sociology at TU Dresden, Chair of Sociological Theory, History of Theory and Cultural Sociology (Prof. Dr. Karl-Siegbert Rehberg). Several leaves of absence due to stays abroad as well as guest and substitute professorships.

Substitution of a position as research assistant at the Institute of Sociology in Freiburg.
June 2000:
Doctorate (Dr. phil.) at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg (supervisor Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Eßbach). Dissertation in sociology: Psychotechnics and Radiophony. Subject constructions in artificial realities 1918-1932 (doctoral scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation 1997-2000). Rigorosum in the subjects of sociology and philosophy.
June 1995:
Graduation (Diplôme de maîtrise en philosophie) at the Université Paris I. with a thesis on the early publishing activities of Ernst Jünger, analyzed with Pierre Bourdieu's sociological method of art (subject philosophy, field méthodologie esthéthique).
October 1994 - June 1995
