Discussion Series "When it's all about Everything - Political Protest between Effectiveness and Hate"
The Chair for Political Science with a Focus on International Politics cordially invites you to the discussion series "When it's All about Everything - Political Protest between Effectiveness and Hate".
Political protest is part of our democracy. The choice of means is constantly changing and finds different resonance. In this context, civil disobedience also plays a leading role time and again. Images of resistance, blockades and demonstrations are everywhere and are part of political debate. This "unconventional political behaviour" is discussed in our series with a focus on current climate movements. Why and how do protesters act when "everything is at stake"? What are the political and social responses? We examine interfaces between protest, politics and culture, ask about solidarisations and ruptures, look at struggles and compromises, claims and effects, generational issues and potentials.
Between 30 May and 27 June, every Tuesday from 7 p.m. at the Kleines Haus of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, we will discuss these issues with you and representatives from politics, academia and civil society. The series of events is free of charge and will be held in German.
The discussion series is a cooperation with Weiterdenken - Heinrich Böll Stiftung Sachsen, the Chair of Political Science with a Focus on International Politics and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. For more information on the series and the individual events, please consult the programme.
