Transfer
JoDDiD sees itself as a link between research and practice. It aims to stimulate the exchange between didactic research and extracurricular political youth and adult education. This means that JoDDiD not only makes its own research results available on this website, but also provides access to research findings, key texts and didactic debates. These are prepared in such a way that they can be quickly and easily understood by those active in the field of civic education (who have better things to do than bite through research reports).
Research dossiers
One format we are working on is called"research dossiers". It is intended to summarize studies and evaluation findings that are relevant to extracurricular political education in a clear form. Based on our work over the last few years, we have compiled short research dossiers that aim to do no more (but also no less) than to provide anyone interested with an introduction to the respective issue.
JoDDiD podcast
One of our most important transfer formats is the JoDDiD podcast. Here we take up the communication between political-educational science and practice. Elisa Moser and Tina Hölzel, as Research Associates from the JoDDiD team, put on the political didactic glasses in this podcast format and ask questions to experts. In this way, we want to provide a transfer that involves both science and practice. This means that studies, concepts and theories will be presented in this format, but exciting practical reports and case studies will also be discussed. The JoDDiD podcast is not just about presenting, but above all about discussing and thinking (further) together! Insights, tasks and questions are formulated for the field of political youth and adult education in Saxony.
JoDDiD mini-reports
The JoDDiD mini-reports. The idea behind them is to take you along to a wide variety of events in different situations so that you can gain a situational insight into the practice and science of political education.
JoDDiD reading format
Another format we are working on is called "Die JoDDiD liest". In this format, we present texts that are important for our work in read-aloud form, because not everyone has the time or inclination to study specialist texts. Presented as audio pieces, the texts are suitable as companions on the way to work or - even better - for the hammock.
JoDDiD on social media
As part of the transfer, JoDDiD also wants to break new ground digitally and in recent years has ventured down the path to social media, which is unusual for science. The JoDDiD on Instagram. Here we are constantly trying out new forms of science communication, engaging with our target group, providing insights into the work at JoDDiD and asking important and topical questions about non-formal political education in Saxony.
JoDDiD meets the police
Last year, our Research Associate Tina Hölzel completed an internship at the police academy in Schneeberg. As part of this, she was able to provide scientific advice and support during the revision of the training plans for social studies and professional ethics. This has now resulted in a long-term cooperation with the Saxon police force. Everything about the cooperation can be found here.
Further transfer work
JoDDiD has an integrative transfer concept, which means that everything we do can also be seen as transfer work. In this sense, both our pool of ideas and the JoDDiD Shop are to be understood as transfer offers. They aim to encourage new and different ways of thinking about political education and provide concrete means of putting this into practice.
