#63 1, 2 OR 3? POSITIONING IN THE PUBLIC SPACE
Anyone who has known JoDDiD for a while knows that we love looking for ways to make coordinating and positioning processes visible! Incidentally, we have already developed supporting materials* for this purpose. Our idea today is also about positions in public spaces. But this time we're starting from places that are suitable for these processes all by themselves. Because in everyday life there are already various places where we constantly make decisions, such as where to go next or where to queue. Just think of the checkouts at the supermarket, the doors of a bus or the elevator doors in large buildings.
The following ideas were developed as part of a think tank event with the theater and performance collective Turbo Pascal: Questions and corresponding answer options are displayed conspicuously and clearly visible above the entrances to elevators, checkout lanes or bus doors, so that my choice of door, queue or route makes my answer to the question visible. The number of doors or routes determines how many positions are possible. At the supermarket checkout, for example, it could say: I eat meat... - never / sometimes / often.
Other positioning questions could be:
- I have already felt alone once this week - Yes / No
- I'm looking forward to retirement! - Yes / No
- I think I am capable of holding political office. - Definitely / It depends / Definitely not.
* Please take a look at our shop for these materials. If you are a political educator in Saxony, you can borrow various carpets free of charge, for example, which can be used to visualize different positions on a controversial issue or thesis in the room.
