The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science

has been established in 1993 and is – in terms of student numbers– the largest Faculty at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at TU Dresden.

It comprises eight institutes: the Institute of Philosophy, of Catholic Theology, of Protestant Theology, of History, of Art and Music, of Political Science, of Sociology, and of Media and Communication.

Our Faculty is characterised by a wide range of courses in humanities and social sciences. We offer multi-perspective teaching and research with a high level of societal relevance, applying a myriad of methods. Research and teaching are conducted in an international framework and are firmly anchored in the social and cultural life of the capital of culture Dresden.
