Project seminars
Risks of the globalized world:
On climate change, migration and flight, financial crises and food safety
The FLiK module "Risk", led by Prof. Marina Münkler, focuses on risk concepts and risk management strategies in various disciplines, the differentiation from related phenomena (e.g. danger) as well as the interpretation of "risky" constellations and the resulting problem contexts and communication occasions from a cultural, political, media, environmental, natural and economic science perspective.
Methodological and specialist skills for a research-oriented, interdisciplinary approach to risk research are taught. The critical-reflective application of specific knowledge of one's own field of study and the familiarization with "non-subject-specific" methodological-theoretical approaches are promoted. The focus is on different conceptualizations of risk assessments and the prerequisites for successful risk communication as well as the joint analysis of historically evolved and current risk narratives.
Project seminars and a lecture series are held alternately each semester.
