| We are cooperating with the project "Gattungspoetik des Sakralen" ("Poetics of Sacred Genres"), led by Prof. Dr. Nicolas Detering and based at the University of Bern. The project, which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, examines the transformation of pre-modern sacred literary formats in the period following the Enlightenment critique of religion between the mid-18th and mid-20th centuries. The project focuses on the transformation of the legend of the saints in the modern age, dramas about saints around 1800 and sacred song. |
