Basic module: Introduction to scientific work

About the module
The subject of the course is the basic forms, techniques and rules of academic work that students of German Studies are repeatedly confronted with in the course of their studies, especially when writing papers. In the seminar, the various stages in the process of writing an academic paper are explained and the relevant skills are practiced using practical examples. This includes finding and justifying a topic, formulating questions, researching and evaluating literature and writing a paper with correct citations, a stringent structure and appropriate style.
Portfolio examination
A portfolio consisting of several individual pieces of work must be completed as an examination for the module. This is explained in more detail in the following video:
