Students who are studying under difficult conditions have the opportunity to apply for enrolment in certain courses before the regular enrolment deadline.

The application is made by completing the form: Application for preferential enrolment under difficult conditions , which can be submitted by 15.09.2025 via the Student Advisory Service email.

Up to three events can be nominated. Two aspects must be conclusively explained in the application:

• The "aggravated conditions": health and family burdens in combination with a high semester of study are considered as such. In addition, the need to submit a certificate of achievement for the receipt of benefits according to BAföG § 9 after the 4th semester can be taken into account.

Both conditions must be fulfilled. There is still no guarantee for a desired seminar.

A special regulation also applies to students who are in the 5th semester in the winter semester or the 6th semester in the summer semester and have not yet been able to attend the introduction to language and/or literature didactics. These students can indicate which introductory seminar they would like to attend after providing proof of the number of semesters they have studied.
