"TACES - Introducing Transdisciplin­ary European Studies in Tajikistan"

"TACES - Introducing Transdisciplinary European Studies in Tajikistan" (EU Erasmus+ CBHE project 561985-EPP-1-2015-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) was a European collaborative project funded by the European Union in the Erasmus+: Capacity-building projects in the field of higher education program from 2016 to 2019.

The aim of the project was to modernize Tajik humanities by developing, introducing and accrediting a transdisciplinary Master's degree program "European Studies" at Tajik National University (TNU) and by developing modules for "European Studies" that could be implemented in existing programs at other Tajik universities.

Specifically, the project aimed to

  • strengthening the importance of Tajik humanities for modern labor markets in a globalized world and for Tajik society
  • improving the employability of humanities graduates
  • modernizing teaching at Tajik universities in the field of European languages and cultures by adopting international academic standards
  • increasing the skills of Tajik teaching staff
  • the establishment, equipping and operation of a European Studies Resource Center at NTU in Dushanbe and of European Studies Resource Points at the other participating universities in Tajikistan
  • the promotion of ECTS and the Bologna Process
  • the establishment of an expert network for European Studies in the region
