"Utopia Europe - ecological change: Europe's future or green utopia?"
Table of contents
As part of the " Utopia Europe" call for proposals, on the initiative of the Office for University Cooperation of the Institut français Deutschland (IFD) and with the support of the Franco-German University (DFH), students at TU Dresden are developing Franco-German discussion and exchange formats on the topic of "Ecology and Sustainability".
This group of students, which emerged from the project seminar: Perspectives on Nature and the Environment - Utopia Europe by Dr. Torsten König in the winter semester 2021/22 , is currently developing three project ideas for the call for proposals:
Project "Strengthening education for sustainable development in schools"
With this project, we would like to achieve a Franco-German exchange on this topic in the form of a workshop and in cooperation with stakeholders from French and German initiatives. We want to discuss how children and young people can engage with the important global issues of our time in a playful and age-appropriate way, without being overwhelmed by overwhelming facts and fears about the future.

June 10, 2022 - Franco-German online discussion on the topic of "Bildung zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung / Éducation au développement durable"
Education for sustainable development is becoming increasingly important in the school context in view of the challenges of developing sustainable lifestyles, protecting the environment and dealing with the climate crisis. Our student project group would like to discuss this aspect of education from a comparative Franco-German perspective. We want to compare the situation of ESD work in Saxon schools with that in France, learn from each other, identify the challenges for the future and create the impetus for a network of interested students, teachers and pupils in the subject "French".
The language of the event was French.
The event took place on June 10, 4 p.m. online on Zoom.
We had invited Florence Bouteloup, Cheffe de mission académique EDD at the Académie de Versailles, as a competent discussion partner from the French side. Ms. Bouteloup reported on the situation of the EDD in France and then discussed it with us.
Our project group took part in the "Utopie Europe - Évolution écologique: avenir de l'Europe ou utopie verte? ", launched by the Institute Français Allemagne(https://utopieeuropa.institutfrancais.de/fr/accueil/).
Yours sincerely,
Project Group Utopia Europe TU Dresden

Project "Green exchange: Student commitment to a climate-friendly society"
The project "Green Exchange: Student Engagement for a Climate-Friendly Society" is dedicated to student initiatives for sustainability and ecological thinking and action in France and Germany. Specifically, we want to create an intercultural meeting format (digital/ in presence) in which student initiatives or their representatives at TU Dresden can exchange ideas and network with those at selected French universities. The aim is for the initiatives to learn from each other and to promote European exchange.
Project "Urban greening: Green roofs and facades. Europe's future or a green utopia?"
Green façades are an untapped opportunity to improve the quality of life in cities and counteract climate change. The aim of this idea is to connect French and German stakeholders and perspectives in this field, to create an exchange and, on this basis, to explore joint opportunities to make gray walls greener and possibly even initiate collective pilot projects. In the form of panel discussions and discussion rounds, experts from France and Germany will present their knowledge, explore possibilities for greening and develop possible perspectives on climate change and the related cooperation and pioneering role of France and Germany in a joint discussion with the audience.
