Call for students: Who would like to participate in a film project on Cinéma français?

Dear students,

Are you enthusiastic about contemporary French film or are you a cinéphile in general? Would you like to work together with fellow students on a project about cinéma français? Then become a member of the French Film Days Dresden 2025 student jury!

What is it about?

Between January and April 2025, the jury will watch 6 French or francophone films that have never been shown in German cinemas. The films come from the Film Fund of the Institute français(IF Cinéma) and are shown in the original French with German subtitles. In April, you will decide which film the Dresden audience should see at a jury meeting (with a delicious dinner!). We will then show it at the Programmkino Ost as part of the French Film Days in May 2025 and you will be able to explain your selection to the audience and share your opinions and "cinematic emotions" with them.

At the beginning of January, we will send you suggested dates for an initial information meeting with all interested parties, which will take place online via Zoom.

A note on language: knowledge of French is not essential, as all films will be shown with German subtitles and the discussion on the evening of the screening will be held in German. What is necessary, however, is a passion for cinema!
