Regional Studies Latin America (ReLa)

can be used by students from all departments. It teaches essential historical, social, intellectual, cultural and economic contexts in the target regions of Brazil and Hispanic America as well as advanced language skills. The course is designed to give students access to non-European cultures and prepare them for a job market in which region-specific additional qualifications are becoming increasingly important. It includes a language course module, in which knowledge of the Spanish or Portuguese language is imparted, a regional course module that covers topics from society, culture, politics, economics and history of Latin America, as well as an oral final examination.
