The Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies
Studying at the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies at TU Dresden opens up a wide range of perspectives in the subjects of English and American Studies, German Studies and Media Cultures, Classical Philology, Romance Studies and Slavic Studies. Students can choose from a variety of degree programs, including Bachelor's and Master's degree programs as well as teacher training programs.
Special features of the faculty are the close integration of research and teaching and the high value placed on internationalization. We offer students the opportunity to get involved in ongoing research projects during their studies and support them in studying at one of the many partner institutions abroad.
Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies see themselves as core fields of dedicated humanities education and research. The focus is on understanding diverse and globally networked societies and promoting critical, intercultural media and action skills. Together with the other two faculties in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the SLK faculty shapes the scientific potential area of social change. Cultural life at the faculty is characterized, among other things, by the TU Dresden's traditional student theater, the bühne.
We are actively committed to equal opportunities and see ourselves as part of a diverse, polyphonic and mutually respectful university community.
