Study Programs
International students have several possibilities to take up their studies at the Faculty Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies at the Technische Universität Dresden. In general, the Faculty offers different types of study programs:
- The subject-specific Bachelor's program and two different Master degrees provide you with a profound knowledge of the interrelations between literature, linguistics and culture in your chosen subject.
- The teacher training degree program enables you to head towards a teacher career at various German school types in your chosen subject. The classes specific to this program are offered at the Faculty of Education.
- Participating the Double Master degree program between the TU Dresden and the Università di Trento offers students the possibility to receive degrees at both universities. To do so, students spent time at both universitites.
STUDY PROGRAMMES
- Exchange students
The Faculty welcomes exchange or visiting students (e.g. Erasmus students) wishing to spend one to three semesters at the TU Dresden. This offer intends to broaden the students' horizon by getting a broader view on intercultural questions. Naturally, students can improve their command of German and of their studied language. If the students' home university participates at the ECTS-system, students will be able to transfer their achieved credits at the TU Dresden to their home course of studies. Thus studying abroad is not just for gaining experiences in life but also credits for study.
In order to apply, students have to contact the International Office. Please note that for students' admission, a confirmation of an intermediate level of the German language is required.
Further information and forms for exchange and visiting students are available from the International Office of the TU Dresden.
- Degree program
A degree program presents a full course of studies at the TU Dresden that leads to the awarding of a German Diploma (Bachelor and/or Master). Thus, international students are subject to the same matriculation and examination procedures as German students. In order to apply, students have to contact the International Office and be aware of the time limits. Please note that for students' admission a confirmation of an advanced level of the German language is required. Moreover, some subjects demand additional admission requirements such as language tests or interviews. Only after fulfilling these requirements students are eligible for matriculation at the TU Dresden.
In case students wish to prolong finished or abandoned studies from their former home university, they might be exempted from the additional admission requirements at the TU Dresden, if former study credits can be transferred to the TU Dresden as a whole or partially. Please contact the International Office for detailed information.
Further information and forms for degree students are available from the International Office of the TU Dresden.
