With the enrollment for the winter semester 2020/2021, a broad spectrum of subjects is available to you in the Bachelor's program in Language, Literature and Cultural Studies. In addition to the 1st and optional 2nd main subjects: English and American Studies, German Studies, Classical Philology, Romance Studies and Slavic Studies, you can also opt for Protestant Theology, History, Catholic Theology, Art History, Media Research or Philosophy in the 2nd main subject.

Short Profile: The Bachelor's Program "Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies
- is a modularized program of study comprising six semesters and 180 credit points.
- is a first professional university degree and also forms the basis for the faculty's master's program.
- allows for an extensive setting of focal points and flexible design of the study programs. The five main subjects English and American Studies, German Studies (admission restricted by local NC), Classical Philology, Romance Studies and Slavic Studies can be freely combined with each other.
- allows students to choose parts of the program (second main subject) from the subjects offered by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science.
- offers a more individual design in the area of General Qualification than before; the sub-areas to be chosen freely or optionally consist of the modules Foreign Languages, Basic Skills, Internship, Stay Abroad. - creates an inter-faculty, uniform crediting of examination results, which corresponds to the crediting of teacher training programs with a state degree.

Note: The subjects Musicology, Political Science, Law and Sociology offered by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science are not compatible with subjects offered by the Faculty SLK.
Discontinued study programs

- Older regulations of the expiring subject bachelor can be found under Regulations.
- The Law sub-discipline, which was offered once for winter semester 2016/17, offers you in combination with Philology an intercultural and at the same time practice-oriented study program. You will gain competence in various fundamental areas of law and develop an understanding of interdisciplinary connections through the interdisciplinary orientation. Matriculation from the winter semester 2017/2018 is no longer possible. - The Bachelor's program of the Faculty SLK replaced the Master's program of the Faculty of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies. Upon application, enrollment is only possible in higher semesters. Further information is available from the Admissions Office.
