Application Erasmus+ 2025/26

Are you interested in studying in another country? Then the Erasmus+ program is a great opportunity to spend one or two semesters at one of our partner universities! The application phase for 2026/27 starts in November, the application deadline is 28 February 2026. Learn more

Scholarships for a six-month stay at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka

BA and teacher training students from the 4th semester and MA students can apply for a stay in Sri Lanka every January. The scholarship includes a monthly grant and a travel allowance, as well as personal support on site. In Dresden, you can come into contact with students from Sri Lanka in the exchange sessions! One-year scholarship for a stay at Ohio State University

At Ohio State University, Graduate Teaching Associates not only complete their own coursework, but also gain teaching experience. 1 Scholarship for these positions is awarded to students who already have a BA degree or have completed their 6th semester in the teaching program. The scholarship includes a monthly stipend of $2,480 and the Teacher Training Workshop. Learn more

Are you planning one or two exchange semesters in Dresden? Then you will find important information for your preparation and arrival on our pages! If you are already in Dresden, you can come to the office in W48/0.06 during office hours (Tuesdays 2–4 pm and Thursdays 10 am–12 pm) and we will find an answer to all your questions. Learn more

Buddies wanted!

We are looking for you as a buddy! You will help international students to cope with everyday university life and life in Dresden. You will have the opportunity to show them your Dresden, improve your intercultural skills and make new friends. Participation can be credited towards AQua and supplementary courses. Registration deadline for the winter semester 2025/26 is in September. Learn more

Studying in other countries

The Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies offers a wide range of opportunities for students who would like to spend one or two semesters in another country as part of their studies. A stay abroad is possible in many European countries via Erasmus+ . The Institutes of English and American Studies and German Studies also offer their students further cooperation with universities in the USA and Sri Lanka. Bi-national degree programs also offer a close link between studying at TU Dresden and another country.

Buddy Program

Students of the faculty and international students may also be interested in the Buddy Program, which provides one-to-one support and offers students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to integrate and network. International and local students alike can find the right contact person for their concerns under Contact and Links.

Exchange Sessions

The Exchange Sessions are networking and support sessions for the ISAP exchange program between TU Dresden and the University of Colombo. Together with exchange students from Colombo, the cultural backgrounds of Sri Lanka and Germany are explored. The exchange sessions offer insights into history, culture and traditions, everyday life and student life, current political and social issues and much more. Enrollment takes place via OPAL.
