The Faculty, along with two other faculties, forms the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. There is a particularly close cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science. Subject-based and teaching-oriented courses of study and programmes with numerous combination options make the academic training at the Faculty attractive not only thanks to its close connection to ongoing research projects, but also to its strong focus on internationalisation. Strategic international partners of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences are e.g. the universities of Trento and Wrocław. The subjects represented at our Faculty offer basic study programmes for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees as well as in the framework of State examination programmes. Interdisciplinary networking is a particular trademark of the Master’s Programme in European Languages (EuroS). With its long-standing heritage, TU Dresden’s theater 'die buehne' contributes to the rich profile of the Faculty. The Faculty pursues an active policy of equal opportunities, with both an above-average number of female chairs and with its gender studies and gender-responsive teaching.
The Faculty building at Wiener Straße 48 offers seminar rooms with up-to-date equipment. The Faculty offers excellent conditions for research and teaching, which include the facilities of the Saxon State Library – State and University Library on Zellescher Weg 18 as well as the alliance partners of DRESDEN-concept.
