Program Content
In the Bachelor’s program in International Relations, you will gain an equal understanding of the fundamentals of the core subjects of international economics (economics), international law (primarily public international law), and international politics. Our interdisciplinary courses will equip you with the ability to analyze international developments across disciplinary boundaries. Through the required electives in the core subjects and the supplementary qualifications, you’ll have the opportunity to specialize in the core subjects or other disciplines. You’ll also learn to communicate effectively in two modern foreign languages.

Language training
As part of the integrated language training program, you will take English as well as a second language of your choice (French, Japanese, Russian, or Spanish).

Study Abroad
An integral part of the program is a study period of at least one semester at a foreign university of your choice. The Center for International Studies maintains numerous partnerships with foreign universities that offer exclusive spots for IB students. In addition, TU Dresden has partnerships with universities from virtually every part of the world.

Career Prospects
Career prospects for graduates are very good and diverse. The program prepares you to enter a wide range of different professional fields.
Preferred employers of BA graduates include international organizations, EU institutions, government ministries, media outlets, foundations, management consulting firms, NGOs, global and regional companies, as well as universities in Germany and abroad.

Further Degree Programs
The Bachelor’s degree is the first academic degree you can earn. A good next step is to continue your studies in “International Relations” in the Master’s program at TU Dresden. Of course, your degree also qualifies you to pursue a Master’s program at another German or international university—not only in International Relations but, depending on your chosen areas of specialization, in any of the core disciplines as well.

Where You’ll Study
At ZIS, you will primarily study on the main campus of TU Dresden in the Südvorstadt district. The entire campus is easily accessible by public transportation or bicycle.
